Corey Soria Some photographers capture memories, others document moments, and a select few can make you feel something within one of their pictures. However, only one has blood on his shutter, and that's Corey Soria. Soria's "Bloodline Photography" isn't simply unique; it's unsettling and utterly unforgettable. He can architect a chilling, yet vibrant photo shoot that contrasts brilliant colors with ruddy, dark, and potent subject matter. He utilizes lighting to transport his subjects into a heightened often surreal setting that's both majestic and magnificent. Working at light speed with a wicked sense of humor to match his aesthetic, Soria's studio experience is like no other, and the final product exudes passion, power, and a photographic poetry.
Soria was behind the lens for numerous acclaimed music videos including "Been to Hell" from gold-selling rap rock sensation Hollywood Undead, legendary heavy metal icon Glenn Danzig's "Across Your Killing Floor" , "On a Wicked Night" and " Ju Ju Bone" , hip hop sensation Hyro Da Hero's "Dirty South Rock" and more. In addition, he worked as cinematographer on underground horror films Bad Girls Burn In Hell and Bloodstruck. He also created the visuals for Rick Florino's critically acclaimed novel series Dolor and Six Bullets to Sunrise.
He serves as staff photographer for http://www.facebook.com/l/01aadAzXMBhpw-UOAOFMxu_PFZw/ARTISTdirect.com, the sixth most trafficked music site on the Internet, shooting everyone from Korn and Linkin Park to Stone Temple Pilots and Rob Zombie live on stage. His photos have also appeared in LAX Magazine and in the album artwork for Glenn Danzig's Deth Red Sabaoth. Right now, Soria is building "Bloodline Photography" as an artistic calling card breaking the mold and bleeding for all to see. This is the future of music, film, and book photography, and it's covered in blood…— Rick Florino, April 2011 |
